The Jones Company Builds the First “Green” Habitat for Humanity Home in Tennessee with Help from Crye-Leike, REALTORS®

Categories: News |

FRANKLIN, TN – For the fourth time in four years, The Jones Company and Crye-Leike, REALTORS® are partnering to build another Habitat for Humanity home in Williamson County, only this time the home will be built by “Green” standards. This will not only be the first known Green Habitat for Humanity Home built in Tennessee, but only the second known Green Habitat home built in the country.

The Jones Company and Crye-Leike, REALTORS® began work on the home at 400 Beechcroft Road in Spring Hill in October. This partnership between the two companies represents a $70,000 commitment, with more than 30 supply sponsors and over 100 volunteers per year.

The new homeowner will be Rockeya Turner and her four children, Arrionna (7), Asharria (4), Keelan (3), and Khaliah (9 months). Rockeya was born in Franklin and graduated from Franklin High School. They are active members at Limestone Missionary Baptist Church.

“I really appreciate that there are people who care to help others,” said Turner. “There are not enough words to express how thankful we are for this blessing. They are angels.”

The project is a result of the partners’ ongoing commitment to build four new Habitat for Humanity homes in Williamson County in four years. The Jones Company has made a further commitment to invest hundreds of thousands of dollars over the next few years by making “Green” homes a standard offering for every home they build from now on. Efforts include everything from using green suppliers and manufacturers to using ENERGY STAR® products and making it as energy and water efficient as possible. Every single family Jones home is now tested by an independent third party verifier and must pass the stringent guidelines set forth by National Association of Home Builder’s Green Building Program and ENERGY STAR®.

“We remain firmly committed to Habitat for Humanity and look forward to building the home to meet our “Green” standards, which will provide for substantial energy savings for the family,” said Richard Chapman, president and partner of The Jones Company. “Both of these initiatives are important to me and my team and we are grateful for the opportunity to make a difference to our community with Crye-Leike as our partner.”

The Jones Company and Crye-Leike partnership to build a Habitat for Humanity house together stems from a strategic marketing alliance formed between them in September 2000.

“In these challenging times for many families, it’s important for us all to stay focused and continue investing in our neighborhoods and communities,” said Harold Crye, Cofounder and CEO of Crye-Leike, REALTORS®. “The U.S. housing market is one of the foundations of our economy and we’re extremely proud of our association with Habitat for Humanity and The Jones Company to help people achieve the dream of owning a home.”

The fourth largest real estate company in the nation, Crye-Leike, REALTORS® was established by Harold Crye and Dick Leike in Memphis in 1977. Today Crye-Leike has a network of more than 4,100 sales associates and 132 corporate and franchise offices located in 65 counties throughout the eight-state southern region of Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi and North Carolina.

Why buy a NEW market home from The Jones Company vs. a used resale, short sale or foreclosed home?

Categories: News, live green, new homes, real estate | Tags: ,

Many people are looking to get great deals on foreclosed and short sale homes in this market. Studies have shown, however, that the money invested to clean, renovate, and rehabilitate these homes often outweigh the benefit. Depending on the age of the home, energy inefficiency can be terribly expensive. Also, when purchasing a used home, you have missed out on an extremely beneficial one year warranty in most cases. BUT, most importantly, a builder like The Jones Company has so many great programs to offer that you will not find with used homes.

The Jones Company has market homes that are from move-in ready to framing stage which will allow you to choose your ideal timeframe to move in your new home. In some cases, when you purchase early enough in the process, you are still able to make your own personal selections for things like carpet, paint color, and appliances.

If you are concerned with ending your lease too early or trying to get your homes sold…The Jones Company has a program to address these issues, as well. Be sure to do the math and research your total cost of ownership on these “deals” that you may be confronted with in today’s market. Then schedule and appointment to tour a newly built, green certified, home with a reputable warranty.

The Jones Company’s “BUY NOW WITH CONFIDENCE” Plan Takes Away All The Roadblocks to Buying NOW!

Categories: News | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , ,

As promised, I am giving you some more examples of the possible objections/roadblocks you might be facing right now to buying a new home, and then showing you how we have a corresponding program to help with that problem!

PROBLEM:  Say you REALLY want to BUILD your home – so you think that to do that, you’ll need to wait for a long time while it’s being built. And, with the all the negative press out there, you think…I’ll just wait until things settle down to build because I am not in any hurry anyway…right?  WRONG!  There are so many reasons NOT TO WAIT…including the fact that interest rates are actually beginning to show an uptick. Plus it seems that many markets are showing signs of improvement (including Nashville) which means that if you are waiting for the bottom…it may have been and gone!

SOLUTION:  The Jones Company’s FAST START TM PROGRAM – If you want to build, but want to move in quickly to take advantage of the tax credit – Give us your deposits, selections, and your signed start order, and we’ll start your home within 30 days, and we’ll guarantee your move in within 120 days! (Just ask us!)

PROBLEM/OBJECTION:  I would really like to have a GREEN, or simply a MORE ENERGY EFFICIENT home to save on my energy bills…but I cannot afford that!  I read somewhere that it can add up to 10% to the cost of the home…?

SOLUTION:  While GREEN Certification and ENERGY STAR Rated features can be costly when you price other builders…JONES builds EVERY HOME with these certifications – meaning that you could see a substantial savings on your energy bills – and you don’t have to pay ONE CENT MORE FOR IT because it comes STANDARD on every Jones home!

Quote heard from a Realtor just the other day:  “With all the great programs Jones offers – if we can’t sell a JONES home – we just can’t sell!” Wow…what a testimonial!

Learn more about how happy our homeowners are…see our channel on YouTube – www.youtube.com/livejonesdotcom and go to “Favorites”…you’ll find our homeowners’ OWN VIDEOS about their Jones home and the great experience of building with us!
